Brrr! It’s starting to cool down out there, which can only mean that winter is just around the corner! We know that for a lot people winter is bad news, but Barmouth Bay is open until the new year to provide you with a wonderful accommodation base for your Snowdonia getaway this year. Most of our on-park facilities are unavailable after the end of October, but around Barmouth Bay and in Snowdonia there is still a lot to see and do! What’s more, we have accommodation deals available until January 2, so don’t rule out Barmouth just yet!
It might sound like you’re headed for dark underground caves, but there’s so much more to this local attraction than meets the eye. Adverse weather can cause some of the stunning underground tour areas to be closed, but above-ground all-weather activities like their zip lining area and mountain biking zone (Antur Stiniog) remain available. If you’re the outdoors type, then this is the place for you, without question!
Fun for the whole family, but perhaps at a slightly slower pace than a zip line or mountain bike. This world-famous centre for horticulture has more than five decades of history behind it. Their winter calendar is packed with great events, such as the Elves’ Workshops, where the kids can come meet Santa’s elves, and make their own decorations to hang on the Christmas tree! Local Splendour
The town of Barmouth itself is another local attraction that won’t close down over the winter. Beautiful views of the Mawddach Estuary, the Snowdonia walks, the stunning Old Town – all have stood the bombardment of many a winter, and remain steadfast for families to enjoy throughout the year. After a day exploring gardens or slate mines, you’ll need a good meal as well! Local eateries such as Bistro Bermo(top rated on Trip Advisor) remain open Wednesday to Saturday from 6:00pm.
