This September comes one of the UK’s finest new visions of a festival – Bestival 2015.

This September comes one of the UK’s finest new visions of a festival – Bestival 2015. Created by a husband and wife team, along with two close friends, Bestival is hosted this year at Robin hill Country Park near Newport, running from Thursday, September 10th to Sunday, September 13th. This award-winning boutique music festival represents the founders’ new creative vision of a modern-day music festival featuring live music (of course), along with entertainment, yoga, meditation, great food and drink – the list goes on.

The star-studded line-up includes names such as Missy Elliot, Duran Duran, the Chemical Brothers, Mark Ronson and many more. As the organisers mention on their website, Bestival is about more than just music, with a huge number of other entertainment, exercise, meditation and other activities available designed to make all attendees feel great and have an enjoyable festival experience. Tickets are £195 for standard entry, but are £325 including a camping ticket. Other discount rates (e.g. student) are displayed on the website.

Trying to be greener:

When people think of a typical festival, it’s hard to forget the huge environmental footprint that it leaves behind in the form of litter, waste, pollution of all kinds and more. Bestival is making every effort to minimise the environmental footprint, including (but not limited to) encouraging visitors to use public transport, sourcing as many local products for food/beverage, construction and maintenance as possible, educating festival goers about green issues and initiating huge recycling programs. There’s even a charity incentive to arrive at the Isle of Wight either by swimming or rowing across the Solent! That’ll certainly save on petrol fumes from cars!

If you’re visiting us at Whitecliff Bay during the month of September, then Bestival is something not to be missed. You can get great accommodation deals at our park, and remain within easy striking distance to enjoy the festival through the weekend. Don’t forget the myriad other attractions that the island has to offer. September is a perfect chance to enjoy the cooler more pleasant tail-end of the summer weather.
