Are you thinking of spending the festive season with us in Barmouth?

Are you thinking of spending the festive season with us in Barmouth? If so, you should know that while many of our park facilities are closed during those winter months, you can still head out from your accommodation to find great goings on in the local area. Here are some ideas to get you started on your itinerary:

Wales is known for its musical talent and love of singing and dancing. Christmas time always brings all manner of music events to take part in. On December 11th, why not head to the Rugby Club in Dolgellau for some acoustic blues music with The Werewolves of Powys? This jazz group represent their genre at their best, and are sure to offer a fun night to all who wish to go. Tickets are £8, and you can book in advance by calling 0131 450353. If the blues isn’t your cup of tea, and you’re interested in something a little more moving or more meaningful, then on December 10, St. Peter’s Parish Church in Machynlleth will be holding their annual Carol Concert in support of Missing People. This concert’s poignant subject matter is a good chance to be reflective, while also enjoying charming choir music. You can find more information here.

Also in lovely Machynlleth, they will hold a fantastic street market on December 16th from 10:00am to 2:00pm. There are many stalls selling food, drink and very special and unique Christmas gifts and handicrafts. Make sure you stop by and see this wonderful local market!

Meanwhile, on the same evening in Barmouth, you should head to the Dragon Theatre to catch their brilliant Christmas Ceilidh, featuring the Mooncoin Ceilidh Band. There will be dancing, refreshments and all-round family fun. It’s equally not to be missed!

There’s always plenty going on in North Wales and Snowdonia, but perhaps most important of all is the obvious and stunning natural beauty of our National Park, which can be enjoyed at all times of year. You might not want to be hiking up a mountainside, but even just to marvel at while enjoying a meal in a quiet eatery, or from a train on the Fairbourne Miniature Railway (Santa Specials on December 19thand 20th), you’ll remain in quiet awe of Snowdonia’s beauty. Get your Santa hat on and book your Christmas getaway with us today.
