With Christmas and New Year over, a break away is the last thing on your mind. It shouldn't be!

Christmas and New Year are over, and it’s possible that right now, a break away is the last thing on your mind. It shouldn’t be! It especially shouldn’t be on February 19th or 20th, when the Alton Winter Beer Festival is happening! Located just a while north of Havant, Alton College plays host to this event, which began back in 2002 as a way of raising much-needed money for local charities.  Their motto is “Great Beer—Great Food—Great Time” and it doesn’t get much greater or simpler than that. They also run a summer event, which this year will be on June 3rd and 4th.

The Alton Winter Beer Festival brings together some of the finest beer and cider from around the country, as well as wine, delicious cuisine and live music. To date, the festival has raised £165,000 for local causes, and it is this achievement that defines it. It isn’t just a big booze-up, its local philanthropy dedicated to raising awareness and funds for those issues championed by nearby charitable organisations.

If you’ve never been to an event like this, then Alton’s festival is exactly what you need. Aren’t you tired of drinking the same old beers and ciders in your local pub? Shake things up a bit and try something new! It’s all waiting for you February 19th in Alton, Hampshire. A bit of good news for the designated driver in the group is that apple juice is free!

The organisers advise that attendees keep an eye on their website for updates on tickets, and also that anyone who looks under 21 should bring photo ID with them. They don’t want to have to deny you entry! While you’re waiting for tickets to go on sale, you should browse our accommodation at Mill Rythe and make us your Hampshire base to enjoy both the Alton Winter Beer Festival and everything else going on in the county this February. We look forward to seeing you!
