We always offer our guests at Whitecliff Bay a warm welcome, and with summer here we have even more going on to entertain you at the Park. However for those of you that like to get out and explore there are some fantastic things to see and do locally, so here are a few suggestions you may enjoy!

Garlic Festival: 15th-16th August 2015

One of the island’s biggest summer shows, this provides a fantastic day out for all the family. With a variety of food, demonstrations, music, fun fair rides and an arena packed full of traditional entertainers – this really is a ‘must-do’ weekend – and for those of you wishing to sample some of the delicious garlic delights, how about trying garlic fudge or ice cream?

Scooter Rally: 28th-31st August 2015

The Pier at Ryde comes alive with the world’s biggest gathering of vintage and modern scooters, originally started in 1980 it’s gone on to gain strength every year since! At the Rally Hub, based at Smallbrook Stadium, there will be a plenty of entertainment including live music, licensed bars, exhibitions and a large selection of stalls, as well as a ride-out on Sunday 24th August starting at Ryde Esplanade, which will be an impressive sight to see!

The Needles Park

With a huge range of attractions for all, including sand filling shop, ‘Jurassic’ adventure golf, open top bus rides and boat trips, as well as an immersive, interactive Cinema experience showing the Lost World. There are loads of places to shop, eat and drink, and a visit to The Needles wouldn’t be complete without a ride in the famous chairlift, which takes you from the top of the cliff to Alum Bay beach and back, giving the best view of the Isle of Wight’s most famous landmark – The Needles Rocks.

Isle of White Zoo

The roar of the wild can definitely be heard here! Specialising in the care of older tigers and big cats, the Zoo has lots to see including a vast collection of lemurs. A popular visitor attraction, in a great location opposite the beach, so you can combine a visit here with spot of sunbathing!
