It’s our birthday! This month Away Resorts officially turns 13, and to celebrate we’re inviting you to take a look back at some of our top achievements over the last 13 years with us…

New investments

Ever since Away Resorts was founded, we’ve invested millions into improving our parks to make sure our guests have the best experience possible. From Exclusive accommodation, more hot tubs, play areas, countless new restaurants and even an adults only bar, the Giggling Goose at Tattershall Lakes Country Park, we’ve pulled out all the stops to guarantee an unforgettable holiday experience for every single one of our guests.

But it doesn’t stop there, we’ve also worked hard to offer a great selection of modern and affordable holiday homes to buy within our holiday parks across the UK. With brilliant facilities to make use of and stunning locations to base yourselves in, we’re proud of our ownership options at Away Resorts.

New parks

From our launch in 2008 we have worked hard to expand our growing family of parks, all with their own personality and team members that make your stay truly memorable – that’s why we refer to them as our Holiday Heroes!

So, let’s rewind and take a look back over the timeline of Away Resorts. Whitecliff Bay was our first park, bought in 2008. A year later, we went on to buy Tattershall Lakes Country Park in Lincolnshire, followed by Mill Rythe Coastal Village on Hayling Island the year after that. Then came Barmouth Bay Holiday Park in North Wales, Mersea Island Holiday Park in Essex in 2015 and finally Sandy Balls Holiday Village in 2017. The most recent addition being Boston West Country Park in 2020!

Our 7 award-winning UK holiday parks, across England and Wales, are fantastically unique in every way, and with fabulous entertainment and superb facilities, we continue to celebrate the best the UK has to offer.

Caister Holiday Park opens

Butlins Opens

Carl teamed up with two other holiday park experts, Neill Ryder and Greg Lashley.

Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park bought on the Isle of Wight

Whitecliff Bay went so well that a year later they went lake-side and bought Tattershall Lakes in Lincolnshire

Followed by Mill Rythe Holiday Village on Hayling Island the year after that

Then came Barmouth Bay Holiday Park in North Wales

Mersea Island Holiday Park in Essex was bought in 2015

Then came Sandy Balls in the New Forest in 2017

With Boston West, Lincolnshire added to the family in 2020

Unrivalled accommodation

Since the launch of the TriBeCa in 2017, Away Resorts has continued to develop our unique accommodation offering and experiences that wow. These holiday homes have been defined in our existing grade categories, but we think they deserve to stand out!

So, this year we created two categories for our accommodation. Classic, which are beautiful holiday homes with grades all the way from glamping through to Luxury. And our Exclusive range; our unique accommodation, each with their own personalities, all boasting welcome goodies, toiletries and a 2:30pm check in. With so many accommodation options to choose from, we’ve worked hard from day one to create something for everyone!
