Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Coningsby
Visit RAF Coningsby to see some of the amazing planes used by the RAF during World War 2. They even have one of the very few air-worthy Lancaster bombers left in the world, as well as Spitfires and other planes. Some of the display is free of charge, but for a small fee you can also take the guided tour of the hangars.
Yarborough Leisure Centre, Lincoln
For some people, holidaying isn’t always about watersports, fishing, heritage and seaside jaunts. There are times when perhaps you’re visiting Lincoln that you might think you need a great facility to work out in, go swimming or something. Yarborough is a hidden gem in Lincoln, and has also been a training spot for great British Olympians!
The Collection Museum, Lincoln
This incredible selection of artifacts, displays and exhibitions makes up one of the county’s premier historic collections. Entry is free, and the museum is an absolute must for history buffs, or anyone interested in sharing in the deep, far-reaching historical and cultural heritage of Lincolnshire.
Tattershall Castle, Tattershall
A local landmark, Tattershall castle offers not only a great day out to visit a key part of the county’s history, but also offers commanding views of the surrounding area, including RAF Coningsby. It’s hard to say you’ve been to see us at Tattershall without also stopping by to see one of our greatest local heritage sites.
Woodside Wildlife Park, Lincoln
This hands-on family day out promises an inspiring wildlife experience that will easily tempt kids away from the pull of their TV sets and video games. Visitors can meet a tiger, hold a snake, listen to wolves, fly a hawk – it’s a lot more than just looking at animals in enclosures.
High Ropes Adventure, Market Rasen
Operating for nearly two decades now, High Ropes Adventure gives children exciting and challenging environments in the form of rope courses suitable for kids aged 6 plus. Archery is also on offer for anyone over the age of 7. They also can provide BBQ hire, orienteering, basic camping facilities – it’s the perfect choice for the outdoorsy family.
Fantasy Island, Skegness
Lincolnshire’s most famous seaside town, Skegness, is home to Fantasy Island, which offers exciting rollercoasters, thrilling fairground rides, arcades and much more family fun. It’s also home to Europe’s largest 7-day market offering gifts, clothing, accessories, tools and everything you can imagine!
Crazee Bongos Indoor Play Centre, Sleaford
Open 7 days a week from 10:00am to 6:00pm, Crazee Bongos is a great choice near the park for parents looking for a great indoor venue to distract your younger kids when outdoor activities might be off the menu due to rain or other reasons.
