New Forest Beaches

After a wonderful walk or bike ride in the New Forest, you may want to cool off in the sea, and all this is possible in one holiday when you stay at Sandy Balls. You’ll find a choice of beaches that run along the coastline in Hampshire down to Bournemouth’s famous beaches in Dorset. Starting with Barton-on-Sea and Milton-on-Sea to the south of Lymington, both offer a mixture of shingle and sandy beaches, beach huts that you can hire for the day, great swimming and some nice cafés offering delicious refreshments. Both have good parking also.

Heading further south towards Dorset, you’ll come across the beautiful Highcliffe Beach with miles of golden sands culminating in a peninsular which is the very popular Mudeford harbour, with both beaches, and in quayside bathing and water sports on offer. Cross the small estuary from Mudeford Quay on the cute passenger ferry boat that runs regularly in peak season, and you will be on Hengistbury head on the Bournemouth side of the bay, with much unspoilt nature to discover and a further 7 miles of golden sandy beaches stretching right across to Poole.

Lepe’s Beach

Situated on Hampshire’s famous south coast and overlooking the scenic waters of The Solent, Lepe Beach is one of the area’s most popular attractions. Highcliffe Castle
