Beautiful walks on the Isle of Wight

The Isle of Wight is a pawfect location to holiday with your dog. It has a number of dog-friendly beaches, walks, pubs and cafes meaning no one is getting out on this holiday! Read on for some of our favourite walks.

Bembridge Beach:

Visit the most easterly point in the Isle of Wight, Bembridge Beach. This beach is quite rare in the fact that dogs are allowed to bound along the shore line all year round! Bembridge also plays host to a number of restaurants and cafés that welcome dogs! For a mapped out walking route, starting at Whitecliff Bay Holiday Village, click here.

Alverstone Mead Nature Reserve

A woodland walk through the wet meadows of Alverstone. The river runs alongside the walk, perfect for your dog to cool off! On the way there you’ll also stumble across Pedallers, a dog-friendly café serving dog treats and water! It is advised however to keep dogs on leads during your time here.

Field of Hope

Park up for free at the car park based in School Close and head to the bottom of the car park for the start of your walk. The walk compromises of plenty of grassland, pawfect for your dog to stretch their legs! After your walk, head to the dog-friendly pub, The Pointer Inn to grab a bite to eat.

Firestone Copse

A flat wooded walk with plenty of paths to choose from. Park up for free at the entrance of Firestone Copse and pack your lunch to have at one of the large picnic areas. If your dog likes a good swim, there is a generous stretch of river just a 2 minute walk away from the car park.

St Helens Duver

Start your walk at the St Helens Duver National Trust car park and head to the sandy path. You’ll be taken across multiple terrains in land and by the coast making your walk that little more exciting! Be careful to only take the coastal paths when the tide is low.
